Winter Hearth

Description

A cozy caffeine-free rooibos blend layered with sweet apple, bright orange peel and warming cinnamon, ginger and clove.

Overall character: Warm • citrusy • gently spicy • cozy Concept: A classic “sitting by the fire on a cold evening” tea.

Rooibos — the foundation. Rooibos gives the blend its smooth, slightly sweet and earthy base. Because it doesn't contain caffeine naturally, it works especially well for a winter tea that can be enjoyed throughout the day or evening. Its mellow flavor also gives the stronger spices somewhere to land.

Orange peel — brightness. Orange peel adds a sweet citrus aroma and a slightly bitter edge. That brightness is important because rooibos, cinnamon and clove could otherwise make the blend taste heavy. Traditionally, citrus peel has also been used in warming digestive-style teas.

Cinnamon — warmth and sweetness. Cinnamon creates much of the recognizable winter character. It tastes naturally sweet without requiring sugar and connects beautifully with orange and apple. Traditionally, cinnamon has been used in warming and digestive preparations.

Apple — soft sweetness. Apple rounds out the sharper flavors. It provides a familiar fruity sweetness that bridges the orange and spices while making the blend more approachable.

Ginger — gentle heat. Ginger adds a warm little kick and prevents the blend from tasting flat. It has a long history of culinary and traditional herbal use, particularly in warming and digestive preparations.

Clove — deep winter spice. Clove is powerful, so you don't need much. Its rich, aromatic character gives the tea that unmistakable holiday/winter aroma.

Why they work together: Think orange + apple + cinnamon + clove, built on mellow rooibos. Apple supplies sweetness, orange supplies brightness, cinnamon and clove supply the classic winter spice, and ginger adds warmth underneath it all.
