Centennial is one of the most well-respected hop varieties since being released in 1990. Named after the centennial anniversary of Washington state, it offers well-rounded utility for bittering, flavor, aroma and dry-hopping. It quickly developed the nickname "Super Cascade" for its higher alpha, with vibrant citrus and soft pine characteristics. Centennial has a long history as a celebrated IPA hop in the beer industry, notably featured in legendary IPAs such as Russian River's Pliny the Elder, Founders' Centennial IPA, and Bell's Two Hearted Ale.
